Prioritizing quality, public health and the environment in all its activities, Tupras holds:

 ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems,

ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems and

OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems Certificates.

To achieve common standards of quality and an awareness of environmental and occupational safety, the establishment of an integrated management system at the Batman Refinery has been completed. In keeping with a Board decision dated February 6, 2006, the Tupras' commitment to protecting public health and the environment was manifested by the prompt initiation of environmental investments and improvement at the Batman Refinery. Inspections by BSI Eurasia Yönetim Sistemleri Belgelendirme Ltd. Şti. were successfully completed and the Batman Refinery Directorate was granted the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems Certificate, the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems Certificate and the OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Systems Certificate.

The Kırıkkale Refinery Experiment Laboratory was accredited by TÜRKAK in accordance with the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standards on November 3, 2006, based on a total of 17 fuel analyses. The efforts for fulfilling the requirements of the TS EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard and obtaining international accreditation certificates for the Izmit Refinery Directorate and Izmir Refinery Directorate laboratories are underway.

Tupras has earned the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management Systems Certificate, the ISO 14001 Environmental Management Systems Certificate and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems Certificate. Still, Tupras considers these as preliminary steps toward total quality and directs all of its efforts toward this goal.

Tupras signed a reciprocal National Quality Movement Goodwill Statement with KalDer (Quality Association of Turkey) on April 4, 2006, as a first step toward the participation in the National Quality Movement and Journey to Excellence Program and implemented EFQM Excellence Model, a continuous development tool in Total Quality Management.

Having successfully completed the second step in the Five Step Journey to Excellence Program, Tupras earned the Competence in Excellence certificate, indicating that the company is managed successfully and is progressing on the way to becoming an excellent organization.
