Another environmental project by Tüpraş under Horizon 2020 The EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation
The R&D project entitled as “MOF4AIR,” including Tüpraş among its partners, has received 100% funding under the call “Advanced Carbon Dioxide Capture Technologies” of Horizon 2020 programme.
The project succeeded in being one of the two projects funded by Horizon 2020 in scope of the call "Advanced Carbon Dioxide Capture Technologies".
Tüpraş continues to take part in R&D projects to increase its adaptation studies on changing world trends and climate change. With the partnership in MOF4AIR R&D project, Tüpraş has received 100% grant funding in Horizon 2020, Europe's largest Research and Innovation Program.
With this project, Tüpraş targets to contribute to the environment by supporting the development of a technological method that will provide efficient capture of carbon dioxide gas from industrial processes and thus reduce the carbon dioxide emissions. Tüpraş will conduct studies for capturing the waste carbon dioxide in flue gases and will have the opportunity to test the developed technology in its refinery field. The technology and system developed within the project is aimed to be deployed to various energy and carbon dioxide intensive industries such as power plants, refineries, cement, iron and steel.
MOF4AIR (Metal Organic Frameworks for carbon dioxide Adsorption processes in power production and energy Intensive industRies) Project, which is coordinated by University of Mons (Belgium), is a partnership of 14 organizations from Belgium, Norway, France, Italy, Greece, United Kingdom, South Korea, and Turkey.
Within MOF4AIR project having a total budget of 11 million Euros, Tüpraş has a budget of 902,500 Euros which is 100% funded by the European Union.
