“Aydın Gün Encouragement Award” To Can Çakmur

Can Çakmur, who was selected as the Interpreter of the Month by Borusan Classic and took credits with his first album from BIS Records, has also received the thumbs of music critics up with the compositions that he interpreted in his album.

Remy Frank from Pizzicatto Newspaper says, “Young Turkish pianist Can Çakmur’s sense of sound differentiation, his phenomenal music technique and his ability to share energies with the listener makes a superb release with a splendidly rhetoric in this album” about Can Çakmur.

Can Çakmur, who received high praise with his interpretation of Schubert, Beethoven and Haydn in his record, is preparing for his second album. He also continues to receive offers from the most prestigious concert halls and orchestrates of the world, including BBC Symphony Orchestra, Kioi Hall in Tokyo, Hamamatsu ACT City Concert Hall, and Munich Gasteig for the next season.

His recital in St. Mangus Festival of Scotland will be broadcasted live from BBC 3 on June 24. Furthermore his concert in Tokyo Sumida Triphony Hall during his Japan tour will be recorded by international Japanese TV channel NHK. Can Çakmur will also continue to meet with Turkish music lovers in various events and he will take stage with Presidential Symphony Orchestra on October 24 and 25.

Aydın Encouragement Award is given by Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) to promising young musicians, who have achieved significant successes in classical music, since 2012 in order to contribute to the education of artists of the future.

About Young Musicians on World Stages project:
“Young Musicians on World Stages”, which is supported by Tüpraş in accordance with its corporate responsibility project, is being implemented with the aim to transfer 50 years of knowledge and visionary experience of our worldwide known pianists, Güher & Süher Pekinel, to young musicians. Highly talented young musicians aging between 12 and 23 years old, selected by Pekinel sisters from conservatories in various regions of Anatolia, are continuing on their development and education under the supervision of trainers, who are experts in their fields, in the most prestigious music schools of the world with the highest quality instruments provided as a part of their scholarship. 20 highly talented students have received scholarships and the education of 10 students still continues with “Young Musicians on World Stages” project, which was started in 2010 and is still continuing with the sponsorship of Tüpraş since 2013. As a part of this project, 16 first prizes, which made our country proud, have been won by the project participants in the most important international competitions.
