Honeywell is our precious partner in this journey, which we have started to produce the first Sustainable Aviation Fuel in Turkey. As Tüpraş, our purpose is to have a Carbon Neutral Tüpraş by 2050 with the strength we gain from our 70 years of roots in the refining industry."
Kemaloğlu added, "As a part of our plan, we focus on three new areas of business, namely biofuels, zero-carbon electricity, and green hydrogen in addition to sustainable refining. We are planning to convert approximately 400 thousand tons of waste vegetable and animal oils to sustainable aviation fuel per year in our facility that we plan to establish in our Izmir Refinery."
Uygar Doyuran, President of Honeywell for Turkey, Israel, and Central Asia, said, "Honeywell has a century-long history of innovations to make our world safer, smarter, and more sustainable. As Honeywell, we have also announced our commitment to be carbon neutral in our facilities and operations by 2035 and we are supporting our customers continuously with our expertise in this area in order to help them reduce their environmental footprints."
"We have technologies that are ready to use as of today in order to support the transition to sustainable energy, including renewable fuels, hydrogen production technologies, carbon capturing, and energy storage at the network level."
"Honeywell UOP Ecofining technology, which we have commissioned together with Tüpraş, our very precious partner, is one of these important technologies."
"Thanks to this technology, Tüpraş will be able to produce biofuel from waste vegetable and animal oils in Izmir Refinery for the first time in Turkey. We are very proud to be together with Tüpraş in this project and we wish it would be beneficial for our country."
