Offering a real work environment to university students by supporting their personal development, Nextremers program is waiting to meet new talents in its 3rd year. The application period that has started on February 5 for Izmit, Izmir, and Kırıkkale refineries as well as the Head Office of Tüpraş will end on March 14.
Aiming to place project students in various functions, such as Production, Process, Maintenance, R&D, Data Analytics, Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Strategic Planning, Financial Affairs, and Human Resources, Tüpraş has started to receive applications through the links published on its “Career” social media accounts.
The program is designed for juniors and post-graduate students of universities and allows students to experience professional work life before their graduation. Young students, who will be ready to reveal their potentials through these experiences, will continue to develop their skills through the responsibilities and initiatives they have assumed. They will also have a significant advantage to get prepared for the future from now while continuing on their professional and technical developments.
Not only an internship, but a real working experience is offered.
Nextremers, which was configured to offer a workplace, industry, and field experience for students where they can work happily in the future, is also aiming to provide a real working experience beyond an internship. Nextremers project students work full time at Tüpraş during the summer season and for a minimum of 2 days a week during the academic semesters, experiencing a professional working environment.
A total of 57 students started to work at Tüpraş as project students in 2019 and 2020 periods for the Nextremers program. While supporting their personal developments with the development programs they have participated in, they have also assumed responsibilities to make a contribution to teamwork, collaboration, idea development, and business processes with the projects they were included in. 10 young talents were employed in several departments, mainly Production, Maintenance, R&D, Corporate Communications, and Human Resources after the completion of the Nextremers program, which lasted for approximately 11 months.
“We met with more than 200 students in August - September 2020.”
Emphasizing that meeting with students is more valuable than ever, Ahmet Aksoy, Human Resources Director of Tüpraş, said, “Our company is a big organization in which students from each department can find some reflections from what they have learned at school. With this program, we help students not only to work in departments at the project level regarding their areas of interest, but we also support them to see the entire picture by including them within current projects and trainings in different areas of work. Due to the pandemic, the trainings of students as well as our working areas have changed. Therefore, we have quickly adapted to the new order and designed new areas to meet with the students. We initially included Nextremers 2020 students remotely in projects, starting from March 2020, and then we met with more than 200 students in the “Tüpraş Online Internship Program” in August - September period. We are also bringing students together with an expert staff of Tüpraş every week in the digital environment through “Tüpraş Digital Career Meetings,” and, even though it is remote, we allow them to see refineries live through our digital applications, such as “Smart Helmet.” We also try to answer the questions that students might have in their minds during our chats on career and development.”
Nextremers students become a part of the Tüpraş family.
Young talents have an opportunity to take part in innovation, digital transformation, sustainability, and refinery-related technical projects, carried out by joint efforts of different departments when they come to Tüpraş. They also have a chance to present their ideas to senior management by taking part in the innovation and corporate intrapreneurship teams. They perform various efforts with data analytic teams for digital transformation projects, create sustainable business ideas, and get to know the qualifications of the future. They also work in technical departments at the Head Office and refineries and gain significant technical experience.
