Tüpraş Launches Appointment System and Contactless Sales Across All Refineries

Tüpraş, as part of its digital and sustainable refining efforts Tüpraş, has designed an end-to-end digital customer experience and successfully completed the Tanker Truck Loading Digital Customer Experience Project. This project sets a new benchmark in Türkiye’s refining industry by introducing end-to-end automation, seamlessly integrating customer order processing with tanker truck loading operations through advanced license plate recognition systems and digital kiosks.

Tüpraş, Türkiye’s leading energy company, continues to stand out in the industry with pioneering projects in digitalization and customer experience. In June 2024, Tüpraş completed the implementation of the Appointment System, Contactless Sales, and Driver Portal as part of its Tanker Truck Loading Digital Customer Experience Project. This milestone was achieved across all refineries and product groups, marking another success in its digital transformation journey

The Tanker Truck Loading Digital Customer Experience Project, along with the Appointment System, Customer Portal, and Driver Portal Mobile Applications, minimizes the need for human interaction by managing the entry of trucks into the loading area. Drivers can carry out these procedures via digital kiosks, eliminating waiting times in the process. With the new appointment system, drivers optimize their schedules, eliminating the need for early arrivals and long waits at the refinery.

Atilla Ulusu, Tüpraş Deputy General Manager of Sales and Marketing, elaborated on their goal to maintain their position as Türkiye’s leading industrial company in line with the motto “Energy to the Future”: “As we continue our transition to clean energy in accordance with our Strategic Transformation Plan and 2050 Carbon Neutrality target, we are committed to implementing the latest technologies and digitalization applications for a more efficient Sustainable Refining, one of our priority business areas. As part of our customer-oriented practices, we have successfully launched the Tanker Truck Loading Digital Customer Experience Project across all our product groups and refineries. By fully digitalizing the loading processes for customers and drivers, we have completely revamped the refineries’ loading automation systems and seamlessly integrated them into our existing operations. In doing so, we have made the loading processes much safer, more sustainable, and better integrated. At our Izmir, Izmit, Batman, and Kırıkkale facilities, the entire journey—from initial customer order to on-site tanker truck loading—now operates without human intervention. This is achieved through advanced portal applications, license plate recognition systems, and digital kiosks.

Digital Customer Experiences -The Tanker Truck Loading Contactless Sales and Appointment System Project—an industry first—will soon extend to railcar, pipeline, and sea loading processes.

Ulusu, stated that Tüpraş will continue to take steps toward enhancing the end-to-end digital customer experience: “Through the Tüpraş Tanker Truck Loading Digital Customer Experience Project, we have implemented a standardized sales and loading management system across all our refineries, ensuring a 24/7 sustainable and integrated infrastructure. The remarkable success of our Tanker Truck Loading Contactless Sales and Appointment System Project serves as a powerful catalyst, propelling us towards even greater achievements. In the coming period, we will expand the Tanker Truck Loading Contactless Sales Project, a first in the Turkish refining industry, by integrating it with rail, pipeline, and ship loading processes.”
