Körfez Ulaştırma signed a maintenance agreement for GATX railcars

Körfez Ulaştırma A.Ş., a subsidiary of Tüpraş in railway transportation, signed a maintenance agreement with Anapet Akaryakıt A.Ş., a fuel oil transporter using the railcars of GATX, a global railcar owner and lessor based in the U.S. Accordingly, the maintenance of 84 fuel oil railcars used by Anapet will be performed in Kırıkkale Workshop of Körfez Ulaştırma.

Körfez Ulaştırma, the first private railway train operator of Turkey and a subsidiary of Tüpraş in railway transportation, signed a periodical maintenance agreement with Anapet Akaryakıt A.Ş., a railway fuel oil transportation company using GATX railcars.

84 pieces of L4BH type fuel oil railcars of U.S.-based GATX, one of the leading freight car operators of the world that owns more than 100 thousand railcars, will be maintained in the railcar maintenance workshop of Körfez Ulaştırma in Kırıkkale under the said agreement.

The most comprehensive railcar maintenance and repairing workshop in compliance with ECM standards.

Technical maintenance works will be performed in the workshop by experienced staff of Railway Logistics Company, which has been authorized to perform maintenance works for railway vehicles in Europe and Turkey and which has the ECM (Entity in Charge of Maintenance) certificate.

The workshop located in Kırıkkale Refinery of Tüpraş will be one of the most advanced workshops in Turkey that has the highest volume of work after activation of wheel hammering and wheel lathe equipment in 2021.

Stating that they will improve their “safer transportation” mission when periodical maintenance works of fuel oil railcars are performed by expert teams as a result of the agreement signed between Körfez Ulaştırma and Anapet, Tufan Başarır, General Manager of Körfez Ulaştırma, said, “The railcar maintenance workshop of Tüpraş in Kırıkkale, which was only serving for the railcars of Tüpraş and Opet until today, will now offer its experience in this field also to other companies by including an external customer to its portfolio.
